Mentorship
A caring adult can make a big difference in a child’s future. Mentors serve as role models, advocates, friends, and advisors. Numerous studies document that mentors help young people enhance social skills, emotional well-being, improve cognitive skills, and develops sound plans for the future. A quality mentoring program also improves attendance at school, lowers drop-out rates, and decreases involvement with drugs and violent behavior. In short, quality mentoring works.
Currently with mentorship programs being offered at Hamilton Middle School, Lindbergh Middle School, Washington Middle School, Jordan Academy, Jordan High School and Poly Technical High School, Academic UpRise continues to provide annual educational symposiums and seminars to promote quality education and career interest among Middle School & High School students. .
